Dividing their time between Spain’s Costa Blanca and the English Midlands,  the pair came together in 2022 to devise their own brand of classy pop.  Prior to forming The Twilight Years, they have performed extensively across  Europe, both together and independently, and alongside a host of well known artists including Mumford & Sons, Ryan Needham (Yard Act), José  González, Fanfarlo and Jake Bugg.

No Friends is the new single of The Twilight Years – a driven and  melodic piece of indie pop that deals with mental turmoil and isolation.

It will be launched across all platforms on 13th January 2024.

Drawing on an array of indie and alternative influences, No Friends is an example of The Twilight Years’ mature brand of indie pop. The lyrics deal with  mental turmoil, isolation and despair, as demonstrated by the chorus refrain, “I  have no friends.” Yet, with its driving beat, powerful instrumentation and catchy  melodies, it’s a high-energy track that’s sure to become a global dancefloor  favourite.

“We’re from an indie background and we’ve been exploring this new, more  dynamic sound,” says producer and songwriter Bobby Cowling.

“No Friends has a dark lyric,” adds vocalist Dale Dawson. “But it’s one of the most  energetic and atmospheric songs we’ve recorded. We think our fans will love it.”
