The Optimists are a five-piece indie-rock band from the Isle of Wight, UK. Formed in 2018, the
Optimists deliver a riff-driven fusion of 90s britpop and early 00s indie influences with a modern
twist; winning the loyalty of fans across the south coast and beyond. Their energetic live shows
and melodic songs sees the audience chanting choruses and unashamedly boogying to
favourites such as Queen of Clowns and Chase the Sun.
With their latest release Small Talk racking up plays and being featured on BBC Introducing, The
Optimists had an exciting 2023. The band performed on the main-stage at the legendary Isle of
Wight Festival in June 2023, after winning the Wight Noize showcase competition earlier this year
and being tipped as “one to watch”. Their previous tour was yet another series of energetic
performances that left the crowd wanting more.
