Leon O’Leary is an indie rock singer-songwriter from Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Influenced by artists and bands such as, Ben Howard, James Bay, Sam Fender and Bruce Springsteen, O’Leary implements roots of folk with ethereal soundscapes, shimmering guitars and the electric energy of rock to create the melancholic sound discovered within his music.
Having cut his teeth playing across the UK, including major festivals such as Latitude, Wild Paths and Lakefest, Leon has built a reputation as one to watch after being named among BBC Introducing East’s ‘Artists to Watch’. Now releasing his first body of work in the debut EP ‘Pretend (To Be Saviours)’, O’Leary continues to showcase the emotive songwriting and inventive indie-folk instrumentation that has seen him gain acclaim across press and radio alike.
With a rich first few years of touring, playing a number of high profile festivals and appearing on line ups for the likes of Sofar Sounds and opened for shared lineups with bands and artists such as Bernard Butler (from Suede), The Feeling, RATS, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Night Flight and The House of Love, Leon O’Leary has already gained support from the likes of Earmilk, Louder Than War, Fame Magazine, Medium, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing across his first few releases. Now gearing up to release his debut EP, Leon O’Leary is poised to cement his place as an exciting new artist.
