​Downupright is Bill Boulden (they/them), from Buffalo, NY. Over the last decade they’ve built
momentum through successful Kickstarters, including 2024’s We’re Doomed We’re Dancing: an
ambitious release made up of 60 songs over 60 minutes with over 50 collaborators. This project
earned them a place in EarMilk, Kickstarter Projects to Watch, and more. Now, they’re
bringing the genre-mashing and collaborator-heavy lessons they learned in WDWD to the next
level with the miles-a-minute insanity of MANIC EPISODE!!!
MANIC EPISODE!!! takes you deep into the chaotic, terrifying experience of living through
mania; the frenzied energy of a mind in overdrive. Sounds and moods switch abruptly in
extraordinary mix-and-match configurations as Downupright paints with different genres to
illustrate the hyperactive, intoxicating, fleeting nature of epiphanies and impulses that highlight a
manic episode.

In their “spare” time, Downupright is a serial startup entrepreneur and fractional Chief
Technology Officer of between two and four startups at once. They have developed twenty-three
distinct tech products in five years and sometimes their engineering passion comes through in
their music! They are recognized as the All-Star Mentor of Techstars Atlanta.
